 Esther Mae Beahm, 75, of Culpeper, passed away on Monday, May 18, 2020, at UVA Culpeper Hospital. She was born on April 1, 1945, to the late Russell David Raynor and Margaret Collier Raynor. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, James Raynor and Richard Raynor. She is survived by her husband, Thomas Andrew Beahm; two sons, Thomas Andrew Beahm, Jr. and Eugene Michael Beahm and wife Theresa; brothers, David Raynor and Albert Raynor; sisters, Lucille Smith, Dorothy Taylor, and Helen Shumaker; and grandchildren, Curtis, Joshua, and Caleb Beahm. A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Violet Conley Woodward 7/2/44 - 6/26/15

   

Violet Conley Woodward, 70, of Stanardsville, VA went to be with the Lord surrounded by her family on Friday, June 26, 2015 in the University of Virginia Medical Center.She was born July 2, 1944 in Greene County and was the daughter of the late Luther and Virgie Morris Conley. She was also preceded in death by a son, Darrell Keith Woodward; and a sister, Barbara Ann Holland.


Mrs. Woodward was a member of First Bible Baptist Church. She loved her garden, canning, cooking and being surrounded by her family.


She is survived by her husband, Quint "Bill" William Woodward of Stanardsville; three daughters, Janice W. Shifflett and husband, C.W., Sandra Faye Woodward all of Stanardsville, and Dora Ann Sheler and husband, Sean, of Ruckersville; a son, Gary Lee Woodward of Stanardsville; a sister, Lethia Mae Conley of Stanardsville, four grandchildren that she cherished very much, Harry Lee Shifflett, Anna Nicole Shifflett both of Stanardsville, Abigail and Gavin Sheler both of Ruckersville; and three nephews, Norman "Dickie" Conley, Kenneth Conley and Steven Conley all of Stanardsville.


Funeral services were held 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 30, 2015 at First Bible Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. James Woods, Pastor Josh Shifflett and Pastor Phillip Powell. The interment was at Mt. Herman Menonite Church.

Linda Louise Taylor Beauchamp 9/12/48 - 7/16/15

                       
Linda Louise Taylor Beauchamp, 66, of Waynesboro, passed away Thursday, July 16, 2015, at the Augusta Health Center.Born in Washington, D.C., September 12, 1948, she was the daughter of the late John Taylor, Jr. and Agnes Conley Taylor. Linda spent her life giving to others. She gave her time and love to her family, friends and animals. For many years she worked as a CNA where she was affectionately referred to as "an angel."She is survived by four children, Terry Blankenship and his fiancé, Kimberly of Lynchburg, Tanya Nixon and her husband, Russell of Rustburg, Tammy Carden and her husband, Jesse and Avannah Beauchamp, all of Waynesboro; one brother, John Taylor, III; ten grandchildren, and one great grandchild.A memorial service celebrating her life will be conducted at 12 p.m. today, Saturday, July 18, 2015, at Hyland Heights Baptist Church with the Rev. Doris Marie Conley, 63, of Ruckersville passed on Sunday, January 26, 2014 at her home. She was born on July 14, 1950 in Greene County to the late Floyd and Mildred Shifflett. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her brothers, George Shifflett, Joe Shifflett, Allen Shifflett, and Ottis Shifflett, sisters, Fannie Shifflett, Mary Shifflett and Margaret McCardell, brother-in-law, John “Hoyt” Collier, step children, Cletus Conley and Lisa Shifflett, grandchild, Manis “Lee” Shifflett III, and her pastor, Elbert Conley. She is survived by her loving husband and caregiver Lester Conley, her children, Clinton Deane and his wife Janet, Wade Deane and his wife Stacy, Marian Bowman and her husband Tressler, Rebecca Shifflett and her husband Wesley, and Melvin Conley and his wife Sharon. Additional survivors include her sisters Sylvia Morris and her husband Ray, Goldie Deane and her husband Lloyd, and Hazel Collier; her grandchildren, Amanda Deane, Kimberly Deane, Brooke Deane, Leighann Shifflett, Betty Easton, Brandon Shifflett, Kendall Shifflett, Chad Conley, Christopher Conley, and Mitchell Conley, 4 great grandchildren, her ex-husband Sherman Deane, her sister-in-law Redie Bortle, and her daughter-in-law Darlene Conley. Robert Lee Conley 1930-2014

Robert Lee Conley, Jr., 83, of Charlottesville, passed away on Saturday morning, March 29, 2014 after a period of declining health.
He was born to Robert Lee Conley and Bertha Morris Conley on May 12, 1930 in Rapidan, VA.
Robert is survived by his wife, Joanne D. Conley; two sons, Bob and his wife Edie, and Barry; two granddaughters, Mary Beth and Meagan Conley; two sisters, Evelyn Conley and Gracie Dulaney; and several nieces and nephews.
After high school, Robert served with the U. S. Army's 45th Infantry Division during the Korean War. He was awarded a Purple Heart.
Robert was employed by Anderson Brothers Bookstore on The Corner for the better part of three decades. He retired in 1986. He was a long standing member of the The First Presbyterian Church (Park Street). He was an avid (and sometimes frustrated) UVA sports fan and was fortunate to see the Hoos win the ACC basketball championship game recently.
Robert's greatest love in life was his family.

The family wishes to thank family friend Paul Jones for his tremendous help during the difficult times of the past few months.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 3, 2014 at The First Presbyterian Church with a reception to follow.

James Oscar Collier, 69,of RFD 2, died today in a Charlottesville hospital. He was a retired farmer. Born in Greene County, he was the son of the late May and Louisa Conley Collier. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Lou Horner Collier; three brothers, Clinton Collier of Eheart, Dewey Collier of Alexandria and William S. Collier of Grottoes; and four sisters, Mrs. Russell Raynor of Ehart, Mrs. William Collier and Mrs. H.B. Frazier, of Charlottesville and Mrs. Chesley Thomas of Louisa. The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Monday in the Hill and Irving Chapel. Burial will be in Mount Pran Church Cemetery in Albemarle County.

Isaac Jacob Conley Sr., 80, of Elkton, died Tuesday, Aug. 17, 2004, at Rockingham Memorial Hospital in Harrisonburg. Mr. Conley was born Dec. 21, 1923, in Greene County, and was the son of the late Zechariah and Loretta Frazier Conley. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, having served aboard the U.S.S. Kitty Hawk. He was a retired poultry farmer and a longtime member of the Church of Solsburg, where he taught Sunday school for a number of years. Mr. Conley was a member of the Virginia Poultry Federation and the Gooden Brothers Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9292 in Elkton. His first wife, Ruby Turner Conley, preceded him in death Aug. 8, 1987. Survivors include his wife, Mary Joanne Morris Conley; a son, Isaac J. Conley Jr. of Elkton; a stepdaughter, Susan Ann Samuels of Elkton; three sisters, Rosa Florence Hensley of McGaheysville, Thelma P. Hensley of Elkton, and Francis M. Hudson of Petersburg; one granddaughter; one stepgrandson and two great-grandchildren. The Revs. Morgan Kinney, Jeff Hicks and Robert "Bob" Aszbach will conduct the funeral 2 p.m. Friday at the Kyger Funeral Home in Elkton. Burial will follow at Elk Run Cemetery. Mrs. Zeb Shifflett, 81, died yesterday at the home of her son, Ellis Shifflett, at Free Union. The former Lessie Conley, she was born in Greene County, the daughter of the late Zack and Emma Conley. Her husband is deceased. Besides Ellis Shifflett, she is survived by two other sons, Bryant Shifflett of Dyke, and Ernest Shifflett of Alexandria; two daughters, Mrs. Fred Morris of Dyke, and Mrs. Nettie Roberts of Earlysville; one half-brother; Henry Crawford two sisters Bertha C. Shifflett and Lucy C. Frazier; 24 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by half-sister Louisa C. Collier and brother  Zachariah Conley, Jr. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Evergreen Church of the Brethren at Dyke, with burial in the church cemetery.

Zachariah Conley Jr & Loretta Frazier Conley

Zachariah Conley Jr was born 1879 to Zachariah and Susan Morris Conley.  He married Loretta Frazier on April 20, 1911 in, Greene Co., VA.  Loretta Frazier was born to Jacob Mitchell Frazier and Frances Jane Morris, in 1884.  Loretta died in 1956.

Zachariah Conley Sr. was born circa 1841, in Greene Co., Virginia. He was a child of John Conley & Matilda Morris and brother to Drucilla Conley.
He married Susan Ellen Morris on October 26, 1869.     Susan Ellen "Emily" Morris  was born circa 1847 to William Jefferson Morris and Luraney Shifflett.   They are know to have at least one daughter Louisa Conley Collier and one son Zachariah Conley Jr.

SOMERSET -- Mrs. Bertha Ola Shifflett, 74, of Somerset, died Wednesday in a Staunton hospital.  Daughter of the late Zack and Emma Morris Conley, she was born on March 15, 1892, in Greene County.  Her husband was the late Josh Shifflett.   She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Ethel Lee Conley of Somerset, Mrs. Dorothy Lawson of Eheart and Mrs. Polly Conley of Stanardsville; a half-brother, Henry Crawford of Waynesboro; nine grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by two sisters, Lucy Ann Conley Frazier  and Lizzie Shifflett ;and a half-sister, Louisa Conley Collier.  The funeral will be at 2 P.M. tomorrow at Preddy's Funeral Home of Gordonsville.  Burial will be in Maplewood Cemetery.

She is survived by her husband; two sons, John Gilbert Frazier and James Raymond Frazier; four daughters, Mrs. Lizzie Sprouse, Mrs. Lila Sandridge, Mrs. Claudia Davis and Mrs. Rachel Wells, all of Charlottesville; a sister, Mrs. Bertha Ola Shiflett of Ehearts Corner; a half-brother, Henry Crawford of Waynesboro; 13 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by a sister, Lizzie Shifflett and a half-sister Louisa C. Collier.  The funeral will be held Saturday at 3:30 p.m. at the M. C. Hill Funeral Home, with burial in Holly Memorial Gardens.

Thompson of White Hall, Nettie Virginia Thompson of Crozet, Dolly A. McCauley of Dyke and Audrey Davis of Scottsville; one sister, Nettie Thomas of Orange; 28 grandchildren; 59 great-grandchildren; and 19 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son, Delbert Frazier. Mrs. Frazier was a member of Owensville Pentecostal Church. Clint Collier, 84, of Barboursville, died Sunday, December 26, 1976 at his home. He was the son of the late Mr. May Collier and Mrs. Loul Conley Collier of Greene County. Mr. Collier is survived by his wife, Fannie M. Collier of Barboursville; four daughters, Mrs. Thurman Dickerson of Barboursville, Mrs. Claude Collier of Ruckersville, Mrs. Bertie Rogers and Mrs. Walter Brill both of Manassas; five sons, Lester Collier of Barboursville, Clay Collier, Elmer Collier and Dennis Collier all of Ruckersville and Raymond Collier of Baltimore, Maryland; four sisters, Margaret Raynor and Nettie Thomas of Orange, Blanche Collier and Mandy Frazier both of Charlottesville; two brothers, Dewey Collier and William Collier both of Alexandria; thirty-five grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren. Mr. Collier was a World War I veteran. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Eheart Pentecostal Church with interment in the Mount Paran Cemetery.
