Richard Alan Raynor circa 1986 |
The funeral will be at 2pm Wednesday at Branchview First Church of God, with the Rev. Robert A. Jordan and Rev. Gene A. Smith officiating.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 pm Tuesday at Hartsell Funeral Home and at the home prior to the visitation.
Born December 5, 1962, in Charlottesville, VA, Alan was the son of the late Richard Russell Raynor and the late Betty Ann Beahm Raynor.
He moved from Gordonsville, VA to Concord, NC in 1983. He was a Maintenance Mechanic with the City of Concord Housing Authority. He was a member of Branchview First Church of God.
Alan took his roll in life seriously: son, brother, husband, father, friend, employee and neighbor. He worked with the same strong ethic as his father had modeled. Alan was humble with a dry sense of humor. He enjoyed fishing, working on cars and giving of his time to help others. He was intellectually gifted. He loved to read as a boy and young teen. He had aspirations of becoming a teacher but in his late teens he got caught up with the "wrong crowd" and his path went in a different direction. He rededicated his life to God in his twenties and lived an exemplary Christian faith.
