Alma Rose Heilig Safrit 1917-2011

Alma Rose Heilig Safrit, of Irish Potato Rd., Concord, died on Wednesday, May 25, 2011 at CMC-Northeast. Mrs. Safrit was born on May 10, 1917 in Stanly County, daughter of the late Joseph Heilig and Laura Ury Heilig. She worked in retail sales until her retirement. She was preceded in death by her husband Cecil L. Safrit. She is survived by two sons, Walter "Chub" Safrit and wife Donna and Robert Safrit both of Concord, three daughters, Marilyn Lewin and husband Bob of Va., Judith Helms of Cornelius, and Christy Doherty and husband Tom of Va., 10 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grand-children. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 28, 2011 at Cross of Christ Lutheran Church, officiated by Rev. Kay Overcash. The family will receive friends after the service in the Church Parish Hall. A private burial will be at a later date.
