Marshall Eugene Nicholson 8/30/92 - 9/15/13


Marshall Eugene Nicholson, 21, of Gordonsville, died on Sunday, September 15, 2013. Born on August 30, 1992, in Charlottesville, he was a son of Cary Marshall Nicholson and Carolyn Nuckols Nicholson of Gordonsville. Marshall attended Open Door Christian School and Louisa County High School where he graduated in 2010. After high school he graduated from Advanced Technology Institute for automotive mechanics in Virginia Beach, and was currently employed by Jim Price in Charlottesville. He worked at Shenandoah Crossings Resort while in high school and was part of the Crossroads Community Church family. Marshall loved working on his car and hanging out with friends. He and his brother enjoyed racing at Summerduck Speedway and had recently attended the Richmond NASCAR Race together. In addition to his parents he is survived by one sister, Courtney Williamson Adams and her husband, Roby, of Lynchburg; one brother, Jesse Nicholson of Gordonsville; paternal grandmother, Nancy B. Ryder of Troy; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, September 20, 2013, at the Preddy Funeral Home Chapel in Gordonsville, with interment to follow in Rhoadesville Baptist Church Cemetery. Pastor Edgar Greene will officiate. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Thursday, September 19, 2013, at the funeral home.
